Doha: Qatari investments in the UK are worth £20bn, ($30.6bn), most of which are in London, the Mayor of London Boris Johnson (pictured) said here yesterday.
Johnson, speaking at a press conference, said he would present 18 new investment areas in London to those who are interested in investing in the English capital.
Johnson said that UK exports are worth over £1.3bn to Qatar and added that relations with Qatar were gaining momentum. He praised Qatari Diar’s investment in the Olympic Village in London.
The Mayor of London said that England, for its part, has its fair share of investments in Qatar. An example of that would be England’s investment in Shell Qatar, worth £22bn.
On Qatari Diar’s freezing of its Chelsea Barracks development project, the Mayor of London said he expected the project to go ahead soon. QNA
