Girls debating team of Pakistan Education Centre took part in a preparatory debating competition organised by Qatar Debates at Roqaya Preparatory School for Girls recently. The three preparatory teams of PEC comprising Rameesha Khan, Aliza, Aroj Haroon, Summiya Rizwan, MariaTaj, Fatima Gulzaib, Hayyam, Nawal Sarfaraz and Fatima Nayyar fared well in the competition, which saw 26 participating teams — 78 debaters — representing different schools across Qatar.
PEC team clinched overall 3rd position among the 26 participating teams. The team PEC also notched 6th individual position among the top 10 debaters. Over the course of the day, each team participated in three separate debate rounds. The team consisting of Rameesha, Aroj and Aliza won all the three rounds. Riffat Tahir, Razia Sardar and Naheed Nadeem from PEC attended the tournament as coaches and adjudicators.
Rameesha Khan secured the 6th position and was awarded with medal and certificate.
Debating team’s success was applauded by Principal Nargis Raza Otho and faculty members.
