DOHA: Qatar Central Bank (QCB) Governor HE Sheikh Bandar bin Mohammed bin Saoud al-Thani warned on Tuesday the global economy may face stagflation this year and a recession by 2023.
Speaking at the Qatar Economic Forum, he said continued supply side constraints could limit central banks' potential for action.
“Qatar's fiscal policy has benefited us greatly to reduce inflation, and there is an influx of funds into the Qatari economy. We raised the interest rate in Qatar to accommodate inflation rates,” Governor added.
