Doha, Qatar: The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and President of the Republic of Singapore HE Halimah Yacob, held an official talks session at the Amiri Diwan this morning.
At the beginning of the session, HH the Amir welcomed the President and her accompanying delegation, wishing them a pleasant stay while looking forward to the visit contributing to consolidating cooperation relations in a way that achieves the aspirations and interests of the two peoples.
For her part, the Singaporean President expressed her thanks and appreciation to HH the Amir for the warm reception and generous hospitality, hoping that Her Excellency’s visit would contribute to pushing forward the cooperation relations between the two countries to broader horizons in various fields.
During the session, they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, and ways to support and develop them in various fields of cooperation, especially in the field of energy, food security and education, in addition to discussing the most prominent regional and international developments of common interest.
The talks were attended by Chief of the Amiri Diwan HE Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Minister of Municipality HE Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Subaie, Minister of State for Energy Affairs HE Mr. Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, Minister of Commerce and Industry HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani, Minister of Education and Higher Education HE Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs HE Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, Head of the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau HE Abdulaziz bin Nasser Al Khalifa, and a number of senior officials.
On the Singaporean side, it was attended by Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, the Second Minister of Education and the Second Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Dr. Mohamad Maliki bin Osman, Minister of State for the Ministry of Trade and Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth HE Low Yen Ling and a number of senior officials in the official delegation.
HH the Amir held a luncheon in honor of the President of the Republic of Singapore HE Halimah Yacob and her accompanying delegation.
HE the Singaporean President had arrived at the Amiri Diwan earlier, where an official reception ceremony was held for Her Excellency.
