Doha, Qatar: The State of Qatar, in its capacity as mediator, has announced the launch of the proceedings of the Lake Lucerne Summit and the first meeting of the High-Level Committee, with the participation of representatives from the United States of America, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the two mediating states, the State of Qatar and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, expressing its hope that these meetings will lead to a comprehensive and lasting agreement addressing all aspects covered by the memorandum of understanding.
Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al-Ansari, Advisor to the Prime Minister and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said in a statement to the Qatar News Agency (QNA) that specialized technical and expert groups have been formed to negotiate the provisions of the final agreement, which will cover all aspects of the memorandum of understanding.
In addition, follow-up groups have been established to oversee the implementation of the memorandum and track the progress made toward concluding the final agreement, reflecting the commitment of all parties to move forward in the negotiation process in good faith, with the aim of reaching a comprehensive and sustainable agreement.
He affirmed that the State of Qatar, as one of the mediating states, will continue working with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and all parties concerned to create a positive environment that enables the negotiations to achieve their objectives, stemming from its firm belief that dialogue and diplomacy represent the optimal path for addressing conflicts and resolving disputes.
The Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Qatar's appreciation for the important role played by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan as a partner and mediator in this process, commending its close cooperation and efforts in supporting the negotiation process.
He also expressed Qatar's appreciation for the commitment of the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran to diplomatic solutions, and for the support provided by the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the brotherly Republic of Türkiye, the brotherly Arab Republic of Egypt, the brotherly United Arab Emirates, and other brotherly and friendly nations, which contributed to creating favorable conditions for advancing this process.
Dr. Al-Ansari reiterated the State of Qatar's full support for all efforts aimed at the success of the negotiations and reaching a final agreement that promotes lasting peace, security, stability, and prosperity in the region.
