Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday held talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas at Al Bahr Palace on developments in Palestinian territories, especially the continued Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip.
Abbas briefed the Emir on efforts to end Israeli crimes against the innocent Palestinian people.
The Emir reiterated Qatar’s support of the brotherly Palestinian people, highlighting the importance of making every effort to make international powers shoulder their responsibility with regard to Israeli military attacks.
The Emir also hosted Iftar in Abbas’ honour.
The Emir also met Norway’s Foreign Minister Borge Brende and his delegation at Al Bahr Palace.
Talks dealt with latest developments on the Palestinian arena, especially the situation in Gaza. Ways to reach a just and lasting solution to the Palestinian cause to ensure the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people were also reviewed.
