Doha: Qatar Stars League (QSL) champions Al Rayyan have confirmed that they will take part in the Festa d’Elx summer competition against Spanish segunda side Elche on August 12.
The match will form a part of Al Rayyan’s preseason training camp, which will be based in Murcia, Spain.
This will be the first time a team from Asia has been invited to compete in the annual summer match, which has previously seen the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Benfica taking part in the match.
Al Rayyan are set to train in Spain till August 20, before returning to Doha to focus on the defense of their QSL title, which they picked up last season.
