Qatar Swimming Association (QSA) delegation, currently in Budapest for FINA World Championship 2017, met officials from the International Swimming Federation (FINA) and continental and non-governmental associations, toured the championship facilities and was introduced to all the organisational aspects of the championship to get additional expertise in preparation for Doha Championship 2023.
The delegation led by President of QSA Khaleel Al Jabir, met with FINA President Julio Maglione, FINA Executive Director Cornel Marculescu and other members of the federation.
In the meeting they discussed ways to strengthen the cooperation between both sides, especially that QSA is considered an important partner to the FINA as it had organised a number of tournaments and events such as the 12th FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) 2014 as well as annually organising one of FINA/airweave Swimming World Cup meets in Doha.
The delegation also held a coordination meeting with Secretary General of Asian Swimming Federation Taha Al Kishri where they discussed topics on the upcoming Asian tournaments.
They held another meeting with President of the Hungarian Swimming Association Bienerth Gusztav to exchange expertise on organizing the world championship.
The delegation toured the championship’s venues including Duna Arena and also visited the synchronised swimming arena and the complex’s facilities and attended water polo games and visited its venues, finally they visited the open water swimming venue and its facilities.
