Doha: Qatar, represented by its Youth Delegates to the United Nations, Munira Fahad Al-Attiyah and Ahmed Mohammed Al-Ansari, participated in the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF), held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City. The forum saw broad participation from representatives of member states, international organisations, experts, and decision-makers.
This participation reflects Qatar’s commitment to empowering youth and enhancing their presence in international forums, stemming from its belief in their pivotal role as partners in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their active contribution to discussing global issues and shaping future solutions.
The Qatari Youth Delegates participated in several sessions and events held alongside the forum, which addressed key challenges and opportunities related to implementing the SDGs. They also exchanged experiences and perspectives with their counterparts from around the world, fostering international youth dialogue and opening new avenues for cooperation and partnerships. The Ministry of Youth and Sports’ participation in the forum reflects its commitment to continuing to support and empower young people, and to enhance their presence in regional and international forums, in line with the state’s direction to invest in the potential of youth, develop their capabilities, and solidify their role as active partners in achieving sustainable development.
