The first Mega Draw of ‘Dream Drive With Lulu’ promotion organised by Lulu Hypermarket Group was held yesterday at Lulu Hypermarket, D-Ring Road branch under the supervision of Nasar Abou Aineen, Inspector from the Ministry of Business and Trade, wherein one Lexus LX570 5.7L and Land Cruiser GX 2013 were given away as prizes. Doha: It was a pleasant surprise for Kareem Mohammed, a low-income Indian worker from the southern Indian state of Kerala when he was informed last evening that he had won a GX 2013 Land Cruiser at the ‘Dream Drive with Lulu’ promotion of the Lulu Hypermarket.
Kareem said he could not believe the news when he was called by Lulu that he had won the prize.
“I thought someone was trying to fool me,” said Kareem, who was visibly excited.
Kareem, who hails from Mathilakam near Thrissur in Kerala has been a resident of Qatar for over two decades. He works as a cook but said he has no permanent job.
“I thank Allah for this gift. I have incurred huge debts in Kerala after marrying away my five daughters. My family is staying in a rented house back home. I will sell the car but I don’t know how much I would get. I hope it would help me pay back some of my loans and start work on a new house,” said Kareem.
