DOHA: Total, the French energy gaint, is proud to showcase its commitment to Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) in Qatar through its sponsorship of the 7th Middle East Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainable Development Conference and Exhibition to be held from September 22-25, said a press statement yesterday.
The three-day event to be held in Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) under the patronage of H E Dr Mohamed bin Saleh Al Sada, the Minister of Energy and Industry.
It provides a great platform for professionals to engage in fruitful discussions on various issues on Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainable development issues affecting the oil and gas industry.
In addition, Total will showcase its leading expertise and initiatives in contribution to safety and environment by setting up its booth which was designed specifically for this occasion.
Total welcomes all visitors to its booth where they can engage with Total’s top executives, as well as learn about Total’s Safety Culture.
A number of Total’s delegates from Qatar and worldwide affiliates will be participating in the exhibition and conference.
Total E&P Qatar’s Health, Safety and Environment Manager, Mohamed Basser, has been involved in the programme of the exhibition and conference as the Chairperson for the Environment committee. He will also be a co-chair in two of the technical programme sessions, namely ‘How to Change Culture to Support Operations Effectiveness’, and ‘Safety Culture and Behaviour based Safety”.
In the environment domain, Total E&P Qatar’s delegates, Andi Suliono and Hend Hassan, will present a “Comparative Study between Manual Calculation and Infrared camera for Fugitive Emissions Quantification”.
Other experts from Total who will participate in the conference include Yousef Al Jaber, Head of Institutional Relations and CSR in Total E&P Qatar’; Emmanuel Garland, Senior HSE Adviser at Total who will be a moderation in the ‘Best Practices in Water Management’ session; Dominique Copin, a Carbon Capture and Storage Coordinator who will be a panelist in ‘Climate
Change’ session, and delegates from Total E&P Indonesia, Total Abu Kosh will be presenting
during the ‘Environmental Impact’ session.
