Doha: Qatar’s Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital, Aspetar, will once again be on hand to provide world-class medical services and help athletes attain their optimum potential at the FINA Swimming World Cup Doha 2013 competition.

Aspetar, the official medical services provider, is committed to offering superior medical expertise to the world’s top swimmers at the prestigious sporting event, which began yesterday at Hamad Aquatic Centre, a press release issued by Aspetal said yesterday.

By hosting such an important swimming competition, Doha continues to advance its role in the global sporting arena as part of an elite group of cities that have the experience and capability to host numerous high-profile international competitions.

Dr Khalifa Al Kuwari, Chief Executive Officer of Aspetar, said, “The international reputation of the event aligns perfectly with our business. At Aspetar, we are delighted to be involved as an official sponsor and renew our commitment towards athletes in order to achieve their full potential.”

Aspetar is especially keen to continue collaborating and building upon the successful agreement it forged last year with Qatar Swimming Association (QSA), which resulted in Aspetar being appointed the official sponsor for medical services in the 2012 and 2013 Doha series of the FINA World Short Course Cup.

As part of the agreement, Aspetar will provide a host of essential services, including ambulance services, a fully equipped medical clinic on-site and at the Athletes Official Accommodation, as well as  specialist physiotherapy and massage treatment and spectator medical coverage.

Aspetar has a long history of providing and coordinating medical support at major sporting events both locally and across the region. It will continue to work alongside QSA during the 12th FINA World Swimming Championships, which is set to take place in Doha from December 3 to 7, 2014.
