Attiyah leaves for Muscat oil, gas summit

Doha: The Chairman of the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority, H E Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah, left Doha yesterday for a three-day visit to Oman. Al Attiyah and the delegation accompanying him will take part in the ministerial session of the oil and gas summit that will kick off today in Muscat.

Qatar’s Ambassador to Oman Abdullah Mohamed Al Khater welcomed Al Attiyah and his delegation on arrival at Muscat International Airport.

US delegation introduces fire suppressing agent

 

DOHA: A technical delegation from the US has visited Qatar to introduce and give training on a new multi-purpose fire suppressing agent, which is completely green and non-toxic.

The presentation and training were conducted at the Civil Defence branch in Industrial Area and attended by Civil Defence officers and directors of several Qatari companies.

Called Cold Fire, this fire extinguisher is natural and biodegradable. It extinguishes even oil and alcohol-based fires quickly and on contact and is effective on oil well and tanker fires, tire fires, fuel and ethanol fires, grass, brush and forest fires, and metal fires.

This product was approved by international organizations including NASA and US environmental protection authority. 

In the region it is approved in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait and now in Qatar to be used by the Civil Defence.
