Al Arabi eye Umm Salal win in midweek tussle

DOHA: Fourth-placed Al Arabi are looking to come even with El Jaish on the points table, with a victory over Umm Salal as the eighth round of the Qatar Stars League kicks off today with two matches at different venues. 
Al Arabi have so far secured 12 points from three victories and as many drawn games. Third-placed El Jaish have 15 points. 
Meanwhile, struggling Al Shahaniya will face Al Gharafa in the other game of the day at their home ground. 
The team is hoping to improve their position on the points table as they are just ahead of bottom-placed Al Shamal with only four points from six matches. 
Al Sadd are leading the table with 19 points from seven matches, followed by Lekhwiya with 18 points.THE PENINSULA
