Trilateral talks to strengthen ties

Islamabad:  A China-Afghanistan-Pakistan trilateral dialogue on Sunday called for further increase and strengthening of links among the three neighbouring countries to bring peace, security and stability to the region.
The two-day track 1.5 dialogue among China, Afghanistan and Pakistan was organised by Pakistan-China Institute (PCI) in collaboration with Konrad Adeneaur Stiftung in Islamabad, Chinese News Agency reported.
Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong, Afghan Ambassador to Pakistan Janan Mosazai, Chairman of the PCI, and other diplomats and foreign relations experts attended the dialogue to discuss the current security and political situation in Afghanistan and its implications for neighbouring countries.
18 Taliban die in Afghan raids
Kabul: At least 18 Taliban militants were killed following joint military operations by Afghan national security forces in the past 24 hours.
The Afghan Ministry of Interior said yesterday that the operations were conducted in Laghman, Kandahar, Zabul, Uruzgan, Ghazni, Khost and Paktiya provinces.
A statement released by the ministry said the operations were jointly conducted by Afghan national police, Afghan national army and Afghan intelligence – national directorate of security operatives, according to the Afghan (Khaama Press).             AGENCIES
