TUNIS: Tunisian Interim Prime Minister HamadiJebali met here last night with Qatar Charity's Executive Chairman Yusuf bin Ahmed Al-Kuwari and its Executive Director Mohammed Al-Ghamdi.
During the meeting, which was attended by HE Qatar's Ambassador to Tunisia Saad bin Nasser Al-Humaidi, the two sides reviewed the projects that will be accomplished by Qatar Charity within the first phase of its development plans in Tunisia.
These projects include, set up pilot collective health care centres and primary schools in rural areas, supply drinking water to rural areas through drilling solar-energy supplied wells, carry out a pilot project for the promotion of low-cost housing in underprivileged areas through local human resources and develop farming co-operatives and ensure training of young unemployed farmers who want to set up business as well as lay out rural tracks in irrigated areas to ease farming works, connect production and consumption centres and open up neighbouring areas.
During a ceremony held last Monday with the presence of Tunisian Farming Minister Mohamed Ben Salem, Qatar Charity's Executive Chairman gave the go-head for the first phase of these projects.
They also inaugurated Qatar's Charity office in the capital Tunis to follow up the implementation of these projects and prepare for other development projects. (QNA)
