DOHA: Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, President of Qatar Football Association (QFA) and Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, Chairman of Aamal signed a partnership agreement by which Aamal will sponsor the National A men’s team, Emir Cup, Sheikh Jassim Cup, Qatar Gas League and Qatar Futsal League for the 2013/2014 season.
Sheikh Hamad thanked Aamal for their continued support and sponsorship of QFA’s championships and their continued support for many sporting events held in Qatar, stressing the importance of entering into sponsorship agreements for the Sheikh Jassim Cup, Qatar Gas League and Qatar Futsal League as part of QFA’s marketing strategy, during the ceremony at Aamal headquarters in Doha yesterday.
Sheikh Hamad also commented on the continuous cooperation with strategic sponsorship partners such as how the leading Qatari companies will benefit participating football clubs and the championships organised by QFA, which is keen on choosing prestigious sponsors who have contributed greatly to the local community.
“Continuing our sponsorship agreement with Aamal is a testament of the successful relationship we had over the past year and it is in line with QFA 2021 vision. We look forward to further cooperation that will benefit both parties,” said Sheikh Hamad in a press conference yesterday.
Sheikh Faisal said: “It is with pleasure that we renew our commitment to Qatar Football Association (QFA) and this announcement reflects Aamal’s commitment to promote sports. The development of sport in Qatar is an important objective of the Qatar National Vision 2030 and is highlighted by Qatar hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup.”
He added: “We’re determined to play a proactive and responsible role in promoting sports. Football is very popular in our community and engages people of all ages. We are delighted to partner with the Qatar Football Association, given its important role in developing this sport in Qatar. I wish all the clubs success for the forthcoming season, especially because we have important games waiting for our National team such as the West Asia Championship and Asian Cup qualifiers 2015.”
