Vienna: Qatar is looking to expand the technical cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), particularly as it has ambitious programmes in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy in the medical, environmental and economic fields.
Qatar also stressed that it attaches great importance to the technical cooperation programme implemented by IAEA as a principal legal means to promote peaceful uses of nuclear energy as it had benefited from the programme in developing its capabilities in the field of nuclear analysis and food laboratories. Qatar’s stand was clarified by Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri, Qatar’s Ambassador to Austria and its Permanent Representative to the International Organizations in Vienna, at the IAEA board meeting on technical cooperation programme.QNA
