QE market cap rises to QR750.66bn

Doha: Qatar Exchange index gained 116.23 points or 0.85 percent last week when the bourse closed yesterday at 13,846.01 points. Trading value last week increased by 12.16 percent. Trading volume increased by 2.06 percent to reach 67,738,971 shares, as against 66,373,513 shares the previous week, while the number of transactions fell by 0.99 percent, to reach 40,173.
Market capitalisation rose by 1.11 percent to reach QR750.66bn last week as compared to QR742.41bn at the end of previous week. The banking and financial services sector led traded value last week with 30.21 percent of the total , followed by the consumer goods and services sector (19.96 percent), the real estate sector (19.59 percent) and the industries sector (16.22 percent).
The real estate sector led traded volume last week with 36.84 percent of the total, followed by the banking and financial services sector (22.14 percent), the consumer goods and services sector (10.64 percent) and the industries sector (10.22 percent).
The banking and financial services sector led traded number of transactions last week with 27.78 percent of the total , followed by the industrial sector (23.98 percent), the real estate sector (20.45 percent) and the consumer goods and services sector (13.36 percent).
Of the 43 companies listed, 24 ended higher last week, while 19 fell. Barwa Real Estate led traded value last week accounting for 12.06 percent of the total value. Al Meera Consumer Goods accounted for 10.76 percent and QNB accounted for 8.22 percent.
As for yesterday, Qatar Exchange index declined 55.07 points when the bourse closed at 13,846.01 points. The trading value declined to QR798.75m from QR1.11bn on Wednesday.
Of the 43 companies listed, 16 advanced, 24 declined and two remained unchanged. Qatar National Bank share was up 1.14 percent to QR231.60. Zad Holding shares gained 3.14 percent to QR92. Qatar Fuel gained 1.33 percent to QR228.
