College of the North Atlantic – Qatar’s (CNA-Q) top students were rewarded for their academic achievements for last year, 2016-17, with a show-stopping awards ceremony held recently. This year, 193 students were recognized for their academic achievement, which is one of the largest ceremonies in CNA-Q history.
The 15th annual Awards Ceremony was sponsored by ORYX GTL, for the fourth year.  ORYX GTL offered four very special awards to students who demonstrate academic excellence as well as a commitment to leadership, entrepreneurship, sport, and health and wellness.  Other awards presented during the ceremony included the Highest Achiever Scholarship, which was presented to Electrical Power Systems Technician student Saba Afreen for her 98.98 per cent weighted average.  Scholarships were also awarded to the Highest Achievers from each of the College’s Schools. Among them Amanda Mendes for Business Studies, Wissam Chahine for Engineering Technology, Sameen Javlikar for Health Sciences and Namreen Javlikar for Information Technology awarded scholarships.
The Awards Ceremony opened with inspirational messages from CNA-Q President, Dr Ken MacLeod, and Mohamed Al-Enazi, Chief Administrative Officer at ORYX GTL.
ORYX GTL is also the sponsor of the President’s Medal for Academic Excellence, which will be presented to top graduating students in May.
