Doha - Qatar SC edged Al Ahli 4-3 to move into the fourth place while Al Arabi collected full points against Al Gharafa in the Round 15 matches of the Qatar Stars League here yesterday.
In the third match, Al Shamal and Al Wakrah shared the spoils in an one all draw.
At Al Arabi Stadium, the match between Qatar SC and Al Ahli produced seven goals.
Qatar SC began proceedings on the right note and it did not take much time for them to find the net. Mahir Bakur put Qatar into the lead in the very third minute, while Al Ahli bounced back to secure the equaliser through captain Mashael Abdulla half an hour into the match.
In the second half a brace from Hamdi Harbaoui (54 and 63 minute) gave Qatar a cushion of a 3-1 lead. Substitute Cho Youngcheol made it 4-1 in the 81st minute for the winners.
Al Ahli were not ready to throw in the towel and their efforts bore fruits with Mashael scoring his second goal of the match, with six minutes to go for the final whistle. The Doha-based club continued to play pressing football and were awarded with another goal in injury time with Alian Diko finding the back of the nets but could not find the equaliser.
Qatar SC now have 24 points one less than third placed El Jaish.
Defending champions Lekhwiya continue to lead the table followed by former champions Al Sadd, both who have 36 points, with Lekhwiya having a better goal difference.
