DOHA: Registration for Al Mazayen event at Qatar Falcons and Hunting Festival is open to competitors from Qatar and abroad until January 29, organisers said yesterday.
Al Mazayen is a contest that selects the most beautiful falcon.
“Al Mazayen is distinguished by a passionate response from falconers every year,” said Ali bin Khatim Al Mahshadi, Head of the festival organising committee.
Al Mahshadi said the event on January 31 is expected to be competitive, following a trend which has held for all of the festival’s events so far.
Meanwhile, the Dau event, which showcases falconers’ skills in training their birds for speed, continues today.
The 10 best falcons in yesterday’s round of qualified for the final round.
