Losail to host three racing events this weekend

Doha: Three racing championships will be held at Losail International Circuit this weekend — the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East, Radical Middle East Cup and Qatar Challenge.
It will be the third round of the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East. The previous rounds of the event were held at the Bahrain International Circuit and Dubai Autodrome. Clemens Schmid from Al Nabooda Racing Team is leading the overall driver standings in the championship with 94 points.
Zaid GT driver Zaid Ashkanani is second in the standings with 90 points and Hasher Al Maktoum with 84 points is third.
The second of the six rounds of the Radical Middle East Cup will also be held this weekend. In the previous round held at the Dubai Autodrome, the winners were Tony Wells in the first race and Lutter and Loffreda in the second race.
In the third round of the Qatar Challenge, British driver Mark Holroyd is leading the championship with 60 points and Peter De Vido is second with 45 points.
On Friday, apart from practice sessions, there will be the first race of the Porsche GT3 CUP Challenge from 3.20pm. On Saturday, the first race of the day will be Qatar Challenge race at 11.55am and the first race for the Radical Middle East Cup will be at 1.45pm.
The second race for Porsche GT3 is scheduled at 3.05pm on Saturday. The second Radical Middle East Cup race will close the weekend at 4.10pm.
The grandstand of the Losail International Circuit will be free for all fans to enjoy all three championships.
