Doha: Japanese Ambassador Shingo Tsuda visited Abdulla Nasser Al Ansari, Director, Qatar National Library, to donate 55 books on Japan, in collaboration with Japan Foundation, as part of the embassy’s efforts to promote cultural relations between Japan and Qatar.
The embassy began handing over books donated by the foundation to the library in 1987 and has provided 970 titles in Arabic, English, and Japanese so far.
Tsuda thanked the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage for support to Doha International Book Fair in which the embassy participates every year. The embassy will also continue to provide books for other organisations and institutions in Qatar.
