Doha: Ooredoo celebrated the first anniversary of the launch of the Ooredoo Advanced Smart Innovative Solutions Lab in Doha, which has been accessed by over 200 businesses in Qatar since its opening.
The lab was opened to give companies in Qatar an opportunity to review and trial key ‘Smart’ Services on Ooredoo’s bigger, faster network.
Organisations from a range of industries are looking to deploy digital services to enhance performance and productivity, as the country strives to become one of the best-connected nations.
In developing the lab, Ooredoo leveraged its long-standing relationships with many of the world’s leading technology companies to bring in latest examples of next generation smart solutions.
Sheikh Nasser Hamad Nasser Al Thani, Chief New Business Officer, Ooredoo, said: “The lab was designed to create space for businesses in Qatar to come and test ground-breaking technology on the biggest, fastest network.

The lab was a breakthrough for the smart living sector in Qatar, leveraging power, speed and reach of Ooredoo’s core networking technologies.
Since the launch, the lab has hosted business events and invited SMEs and corporations to visit the facility.
The lab includes Smart Home Automation, Out of Country Disaster Recovery, Cloud Security, Cloud Email Security Solutions, Smart Healthcare Solutions, Smart Cloud Marketplace, Internet of Things, Smart City Platform and M2M solutions.
Many solutions that were initially tried in the lab have been commercialised and are in use by businesses in Qatar.
One of the first of its kind in the region, the lab is based at Ooredoo’s headquarters in West Bay and equipped with a special business lounge to host events and meetings and tele-presence technology to connect visitors with experts around the world.
