GMC TriSeries Doha’s second meet of the current season concluded at Aspire recently.

Doha: The GMC TriSeries Doha, a triathlon series organised by TriClub Doha in partnership with GMC and Mannai Auto Group, recently held its second meet of the current season.
Ewan Cameron, CFO, Mannai Corporation and member of the Doha TriClub said: “Each race keeps getting better and attracts new people. This race was the second in the season and had about a third of the participants that didn’t take part in the first race which was held in late 2014. This event reached full capacity of 200 almost two weeks before the race which highlights the demand for triathlons in Doha.”
The organisers were also enthused by the support received from Aspire. “We are really pleased with the feedback from participants and are looking forward to concluding this season on a high on April 25 when the final meet takes place.”
Mohammed Helmy, Group General Manager, Mannai Auto, official agents for GMC in Qatar, said: “We have been more than impressed by the organisation of each event this season. The GMC TriSeries has proven that there is a definite demand for this sport in our country and with many of the participants demonstrating their passion by attending every single meet, we are confident triathlons will gain even more popularity. Aspire Zone has provided a world-class destination and facilities for the athletes as well as extensive support in the organisation of each event. We also thank TriClub Doha and its members for their enthusiasm and passion which helped make all of this possible.”
GMC is the title sponsor of the series which is the first such dedicated triathlon series held in Qatar.
