Doha: The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has opened three new mosques that can accommodate more than 1,000 worshippers in Al Khor, Abu Sadri and Umm Al Khaba as part of its plan to double the number of mosques to keep pace with the increasing population.
The mosque in Al Khor can accommodate 498 worshippers of whom 215 in the main hall, 250 in the mezzanine and 33 in the women’s hall.
The mosque in Abu Sadri for Furud prayers can accommodate 190 worshippers, including 150 in the main hall and 40 in women’s hall while the mosque in Umm Al Akhaba can accommodate 300 worshippers in the main hall and 66 in the women’s hall. It has a library of Islamic books. QNA
