“Students will have knowledge of and access to information and resources regarding educational technologies available to them, including the blackboard mobile app and smart clickers. They will be able to view recorded lectures, collaborate on projects online and use software to enhance productivity, all of which combine to help them learn.
“The initiative also provided faculty and course instructors with opportunities to explore emerging educational technologies that have the potential to transform educational experience and how to incorporate these tools into their teaching.”
The faculty presented three competitive projects which showed promising results to improve learning outcomes.
The projects surveyed student participants and the results indicated favourable experiences and keen interest to use using tools implemented in the projects — Exploration and development tools for visual support of learning and training ‘Google Glass’ by Dr Konstantinos Kakosimos; Flipped Classroom and Interactive Engagement for Improved Student Learning in Mathematics by Raelene Dufresne and Flipped Classroom for Statics & Particle Dynamics by Dr Bing Guo.
