DOHA: Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) will mark the first anniversary of its ongoing national campaign for conservation and efficient use of water and electricity — Tarsheed — with a ceremony at Doha Sheraton this evening.
The campaign was launched on April 22 last year on the occasion of Earth Day under the slogan “Keep Qatar pulsing. Consume wisely”.
The Chairman of the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority H E Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah, Minister of Energy and Industry, H E Dr Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada, and Kahramaa President Eng Essa bin Hilal Al Kuwari will attend the event, which is aligned with the world campaign ‘A billion acts of Green.’
Eng Ali Mohammed Al-Ali, Conservation and Energy Efficiency Department Manager said: “The campaign is based on conducting surveys and researches to reach the aim of reducing electricity consumption by 20 percent and water by 35 percent over five years.” The Peninsula
