Doha: The Paris Saint-Germain Academy by Ooredoo kicked off this week at Doha College, witnessing participation from over 100 children and teenagers from around Qatar taking part.
The football academy, which features Paris Saint-Germain’s top coaches Sacha Lizambard and Benjamin Houri, will teach football skills to children during an intensive four day football camp running April from 20 to 24. Children will be taught a range of skills, including tactical and defensive playing, stamina training and the basic rules of football.
“We believe in championing youth, and through working with top teams like Paris Saint-Germain, we hope to inspire Qatar’s young people to get involved in sport and follow their dreams,” said Fatima Sultan Al Kuwari, Director of Community and Public Relations, Ooredoo.
The Paris Saint-Germain Academy by Ooredoo, is open for children aged 8 to 16 and will take place from 3 - 6pm. All registered participants will receive diplomas on the successful completion of their training, as well as a Paris Saint-Germain football kit, consisting of a football shirt, shorts and socks.
Ooredoo will also be hosting a separate academy for the winners of the #OoredooPSGAcademy competition on Instagram. Entrants had to post a ten second clip of them playing football in order to win a place in a four-hour intensive training session on 25 or 26 April. These two sessions will have over 200 young people taking part for free from across Qatar.
