Doha, Qatar: WhatsApp has unveiled a new feature that allows users to edit their messages within a 15-minute window after sending.

Mark Zuckerberg made the announcement on his Facebook account, stating that this feature provides users with more control over their chats.

With the ability to edit sent messages, users can correct mistakes or provide additional context to their conversations.

To edit a message, simply long-press on it and select "Edit" from the menu within fifteen minutes of sending.

Edited messages will be labeled with an "edited" tag, ensuring recipients are aware of the correction without revealing the edit history.

As with all personal messages, media, and calls, the edits and messages are protected by end-to-end encryption.

The rollout of this feature has begun globally and will be accessible to all users in the coming weeks.
