Doha, Qatar: Customs officers at Hamad International Airport thwarted an attempt to smuggle narcotic substances into the country, including heroin and hashish.
The seizure was made after a customs inspector grew suspicious of the luggage belonging to passengers arriving in Qatar.
Upon inspection using advanced scanning equipment and thorough manual search, the illicit substances were concealed within automotive spare parts.
The total weight of the seized drugs amounted to 1 kilogram of heroin and 6 kilograms of hashish.
