Brussels: President of the Chamber of Representatives of Belgium H E Peter De Roover, met in Brussels yesterday with Advisor to the Prime Minister and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari.
The meeting discussed bilateral cooperation and the latest regional developments, with particular focus on the situation in the Gaza Strip, the occupied Palestinian territories, Syria, and the Russia-Ukraine crisis.
Ambassador of Qatar to Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg H E Khalid bin Fahad Al Hajri attended the meeting.
Al Ansari also met on Tuesday in Brussels with Managing Director for the MENA region at the European External Action Service H E Helene Le Gal. The meeting dealt with cooperation ties between Qatar and the European Union and addressed the latest developments in Gaza and occupied Palestinian territories, as well as in Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, and the ongoing Russia-Ukraine crisis. The discussions also touched on talks between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
During the meeting, Le Gal expressed appreciation for Qatar’s efforts as part of the joint mediation aimed at achieving a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
The meeting was attended by Head of Qatar’s Mission to the EU and NATO H E Abdulaziz bin Ahmed Al Malki.
Dr. Al Ansari also met with Chief Diplomatic Advisor to the European Commission (EC) President H E Elisabetta Belloni.
