Prime Minister attends Doha Institute's 10th cohort graduation ceremony

Doha, Qatar: Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani attended yesterday the graduation ceremony of the tenth cohort of master’s students at Doha Institute for Graduate Studies.

The ceremony was attended by several Their Excellencies ministers, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Doha Institute Dr. Azmi Bishara, and a number of board members. A total of 246 male and female students graduated during the ceremony, including 163 graduates from the School of Social Sciences and Humanities and 83 from the School of Economics, Administration and Public Policy, representing 32 nationalities.

Among them were 100 graduates supported by the Qatar Fund for Development through the State of Qatar Scholarship Program for International Students. Qatari graduates accounted for 73 of the total graduates.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs said: "We congratulate the graduates of the tenth cohort of master’s students at Doha Institute for Graduate Studies on this academic achievement. We are confident that the knowledge and experience they have gained will contribute to preparing qualified professionals capable of serving the State of Qatar and the countries of the scholarship students, while helping to realize the aspirations of our societies. We wish them every success in their future endeavours."

H E Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Ali bin Saud Al Thani, Institute President Dr. Abdelwahab El-Affendi, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Amal Ghazal, and the deans of the colleges, presented certificates to the graduates.

H E Dr. Abdulaziz Al Horr, Director of the Diplomatic Institute at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also took part in presenting certificates to graduates of the Executive Master’s Program in Diplomatic Studies and International Cooperation, offered by the Doha Institute in partnership with the Diplomatic Institute.

With the graduation of this cohort, the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies has now celebrated ten graduating classes since its establishment, with a total of 1,886 graduates. Many have continued their academic journeys by enrolling in PhD programmes at prestigious universities around the world, while others hold professional, academic, and research positions in local, regional, and international institutions.

The institute offers 20 internationally accredited master’s programs across two schools: the School of Social Sciences and Humanities, and the School of Economics, Administration and Public Policy. It also offers eight doctoral programmes.
