Doha, Qatar: The State of Qatar welcomed the ban by the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Kingdom of Belgium on the import of products from Israeli settlements, considering it an important step that supports efforts aimed at deterring settlement policies of the occupation as a flagrant violation of international legitimacy resolutions—particularly UN Security Council Resolution 2334—and a blatant assault on the rights of the Palestinian people.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Qatar's hope that more countries will take similar steps in this context. It also emphasizes the necessity for the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities to compel Israel to cease its settlement policy in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The Ministry reiterates the firm and permanent stance of the State of Qatar in support of the Palestinian cause and the resilience of the brotherly Palestinian people, based on international legitimacy resolutions and the two-state solution, ensuring the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
