New Mali president vows to rebuild state

BAMAKO: Mali's president-elect Ibrahim Boubacar Keita pledged Thursday to realize the national reconciliation and rebuilding the country.

In his keynote address in Bamako, Keita said "I am the president of national reconciliation and I would be the president of all inhabitants in Mali and I will never betray them."

"My duty is to rally all Malian people on values of peace and tolerance in order to establish a quiet democracy", said Keita, stressing that one of his objectives is to rebuild the state of rule of law, upgrade the army, control corruption and realize economic and social development. (QNA)
