As part of its efforts to realise the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) has launched the investment portal ‘Foras’ to promote public-private partnership.
“We are pleased to present the investment portal ‘Foras’ (which means opportunities) to activate the role of partnership between the public and private sectors,” MME said in a tweet.
The portal has been developed to ensure the quality of service provided to investors. Through the portal, the investor can fill out the form to request an investment project, allocated according to the type of entity, and send it along with required documents to the e-mail specified in the form.
Currently the priority is being given to projects related to environment, sustainability, waste treatment and recycling in order to contribute to achieving the goals of sustainable development in the country.
Moreover, the Ministry is working to coordinate with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the relevant authorities to unify efforts and to ensure the regulation of investment in the country and to provide an attractive investment environment and incentive packages that facilitate investment procedures in the fields relevant to the work of the Ministry.
A partnership application form for an investment project with the MME, for all external parties, has been issued.
A partnership application form for an investment project with the private sector (for the sectors concerned and departments in the Ministry wishing to undertake an investment project through partnership with the private sector) has been also issued.
The investment opportunities in food security sector aim at raising country’s self-sufficiency rates in plant, animal and fish products.
In the environment sector, it will contribute in achieving the sustainable development goals of the State of Qatar with the aim of protecting the environment for future generations.
The investment opportunities in municipalities will develop services provided by the municipality to preserve and beautify cities and villages.
In sports sector, it will create a sports environment that contributes to raising awareness of the importance of sport in the country.
The investment opportunities aim at encouraging sustainable development for a range of medium and light industrial uses in the industrial sector.
The initiative also targets tourism sector for implementing the long-term objectives of the National Tourism Sector Strategy for economic diversification and growth. In public services sector, the investment opportunities aim at providing public services by maintaining hygiene, waste management, greening and developing public areas in a sustainable manner.
