Qatar University researcher achieves milestones in academic excellence

Doha, Qatar: Qatar University (QU) takes immense pride in celebrating the exceptional achievements of Dr. Ali Alalwan, a highly distinguished and accomplished Professor of Marketing at the College of Business and Economics.

Dr. Alalwan’s dedication to groundbreaking research has led to the publication of an impressive collection of 36 research papers in internationally accredited scientific journals. In a recent statement on this occasion, Dr. Ali Alalwan expressed his gratitude, saying, “I have a rich research record during the last five years, as indicated in the terms and criteria of the award (clarification). I would also like to point out that most of my research publications (36 papers) dealt with issues related to the subject of e-marketing and the use of social networking sites, communication tools, and digital commerce, especially in developing markets, such as the Jordanian and Saudi markets.”

Dr. Alalwan’s contributions to the academic world are not only evident in the sheer volume of his publications but also in the profound impact they have had.

He stated, “I own 36 research papers classified in the best internationally accredited scientific journals and within the Web of Science base, and I have participated in more than six scientific conferences during recent years. The number of scientific citations for my research has reached nearly 7,112 with an impact factor of 27 H-index, and accordingly, my name was included by Clarivate Analytics in the list of the most influential researchers in the world in the field of social sciences for the years 2021 and 2022.”

Dr. Alalwan indicated that during his work at QU, he has been able to publish 10 scientific papers in the most prestigious international journals. He commented by saying,

“QU is working to support all researchers affiliated with it through the availability of many research centres and grants, and the university is also working to urge researchers affiliated with it to activate academic and research efforts that benefit both parties.”

Dr. Alalwan’s academic activities include supervising master’s theses, as the number of students he has supervised in recent years has reached approximately seven, all of whom have successfully completed their scientific theses and excelled, and some of them were able to publish part of their scientific studies in international conferences and journals, in addition to his role as a debater. He has a number of master’s theses at the University of Jordan and Al Balqa Applied University, and he is considered an arbitrator for a number of accredited local and international journals.

It is worth noting that in addition to his current work at QU, Dr. Alalwan is currently holding the position of editorial assistant in one of the international journals, which is the International Journal of Electronic Government Research (IJEGR). He is also a permanent member of the editorial board of the International Journal of Information Management.
