Who we are
Valley Forge Academy Qatar is the first truly international American school for boys and opened in August 2022 in the Aspire Zone. We enroll young men in grades PK-12 and prepare them to be successful in their futures through an American curriculum. Valley Forge Academy Qatar’s focus is on developing young men through a structured and holistic learning environment where we forge boys into independent men who are strong in mind, body, and spirit.
What we believe and what guides us
One of the Qatar National Vision 2030 pillars is Human Development, which aims to develop Qatari citizens who are educated, physically and mentally healthy, and capable and motivated as they enter the future workforce. These future goals need to be balanced with a preservation of culture and tradition to include the Arabic language, Islamic faith, and Qatari culture. At VFAQ, we believe all this can be achieved while remaining true to Qatar's values, culture, and traditions. We believe in creating the conditions and experiences under which young men are developed and prepared for greatness and for success in their own future and the future of Qatar. We offer that solid educational foundation necessary for success through content and develop skills such as flexibility, adaptability, emotional intelligence, and cultural understanding, which are key to becoming a successful leader. Our Five Cornerstones are:
Q Academic Excellence is achieved through a challenging curriculum, dedicated faculty, small classes, and individual attention. The development of skills in this area and the shaping of attitudes are emphasized to enable students to excel academically and to inspire them to pursue education throughout life.
Q Personal Motivation is encouraged through positive competition, recognition, loyalty, teamwork, organizational pride, and the establishment of personal goals.
Q Physical Development strives to improve every student's health, self-confidence, and physical abilities through an integrated program of physical education and athletic competition. By doing so, we foster the development of those attitudes, habits, and abilities that lead to lifelong physical well-being.
Q Leadership — VFAQ seeks to prepare its graduates to become educated citizen leaders by developing individual responsibility and by providing opportunities for the practical application of leadership theories in positions of increasing responsibility.
Q Character Development allows us to emphasize time-proven standards of conduct, ethical behavior, integrity, spiritual values, and service to community and country. A key aspect of Character Development is the subjects of Arabic language, Islamic studies, and Qatari culture. Over the last year the Ministry of Education has promoted the theme of My Values are My Identity. Here at VFAQ, our cornerstones help our young men live this daily.
These cornerstones are not new; the attributes that they help to develop have been forged over time in that Valley Forge Academy Qatar draws on almost 100 years of heritage, experience, and expertise through a collaborative partnership with Valley Forge Military Academy (VFMA) in the USA. VFMA has a proven track record in creating some of the world’s most prominent leaders since 1928 including engineers, doctors, educators, attorneys, diplomats, and military officers.
