Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, sent a cable of congratulations to the President of the Republic of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan and President of the Republic of Malta, George Abela, on the occasion of their countries national day yesterday.
The Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, has also sent similar cables to the presidents of Armenia and Malta.
Doha: The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, H E Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud, will preside over the first meeting of the Darfur Recovery and Reconstruction Board of Directors due to be held here tomorrow.
Members of the Republic of Sudan, the Darfur Regional Authority (DRA), the United Nations along with representatives of donor countries and international development partners will also attend the meeting. Al Mahmoud will also chair tomorrow the sixth meeting of the Committee for monitoring the implementation of the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur (DDPD).
The Committee will discuss the recent developments in the peace process in Darfur and its impact on the implementation of DDPD following the implementation of the peace agreement signed between the Government of Sudan and the Justice and Equality Movement on April 6 in Doha and the launch of the second phase of the security arrangements between the Sudanese government and the Liberation and Justice Movement.
