DOHA: Lekhwiya will host the UN’s 125th civil-military coordination programme in Doha tomorrow.

The event will be held until September 27 to discuss about coordination between the civil society and military during natural disasters. The programme is organised by Lekhwiya in coordination with UN Office for Humanitarian Affairs. Participants from Qatar, Austria, Pakistan, Lebanon, France , Afghanistan, Tunisia, Germany, the Philippines, Jordan, Britain, the UAE, Palestine, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Libya and Belgium will attend the programme. Lekhwiya looks forward to organise this programme in partnership with the United Nations to support initiatives and proposals to strengthen and activate the system of coordination between civil-military relief workers during disasters. By organising this programme Lekhwiya also aims to find ways on how to use the practices of Qatari search and rescue teams in disaster management.

The programme will exchange experiences between representatives of the military organisations, civil defence and civilians dealing with preparedness and emergency response, through the academic environment conducive to learning and ensure free discussion about operational things, so that the participants present various topics related to their experiences through which civilian point of view or the military.
