DOHA: The Traffic Department will soon issue a rule to reduce the intensity of tint on glasses fitted in vehicles, Al Sharq reported. Currently vehicles are allowed to use glasses with 20 percent tint. It will be reduced to 5 to ten percent on the implementation of the new rule. Officials have informed car accessory shops that fit tinted glasses for vehicles of the new guidelines. Traffic authorities will start inspecting vehicles with tinted glasses in October to check for compliance. However, a date has not been announced for implementing the rule.
Abandoned vehicles seized
DOHA: The Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning seized 10,516 abandoned vehicles parked on the roadside and other public places over the last 15 months. The crackdown was launched by the Automobile Department in collaboration with the Cleaning Department at the Ministry, Al Sharq reported. Safar Mobarak Al Shafi, director of public cleaning project at the ministry said 2,428 abandoned vehicles were sized within the past two months and the crackdown was advanced since the month of Ramadan. “The ministry continues to remove abandoned vehicles as a step to protect the environment and public health,” he said.
