DOHA: The Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) has lined up a wide range of activities to celebrate Eid Al Adha which falls in the first week of October. The celebrations will start on the first day of Eid and continue for seven days.
Commenting on the preparations, Rashed Al Qurese, Director of Marketing and Promotion at QTA said: “QTA is pleased to continue the successful Eid Celebrations in Qatar programme with a new slate of activities planned for Eid Al Adha. Last Eid events were well received, drawing residents and visitors from across the GCC to attractions in malls and venues around Qatar. We’re certain that everyone in the family will find something of interest during this year’s Eid Celebrations in Qatar.”
The celebration will feature entertainment and cultural shows, activities at key locations around Doha and activities sponsored by partners that are specially tailored for the period.
Last year saw shows and performances in Qatar’s malls — held for the first time in Qatar, including the Smurfs, Made in the Ice Age, the children’s favorite Ben 10, among others.
“Once again this Eid, residents and visitors can expect to find activities at all of the usual spots in Qatar — from Katara, Souq Waqif to the malls — as well as special events created solely for the Eid period,” Al Qurese added.
Full details of the events will be announced in the coming days. Materials about the activities will be made available to visitors arriving via the Abu Samra border crossing with Saudi Arabia, and the Hamad International Airport.
