Switzerland: The Qatari parachuting team 'Target Team' won the gold medal after securing first place in the team competitions at the final of the World Cup League - SWCS Locarno Final, held in the Swiss city of Locarno, with the participation of 35 teams representing 16 countries.
The Qatari achievement came after intense competitions featuring some of the world's top parachuting teams, where the 'Target Team' champions showcased high technical levels and consistently outstanding performance throughout the tournament stages, earning the top spot and standing on the podium with the gold medal. With this achievement, the Qatari team strengthened its position among the top parachuting teams internationally, having outperformed several experienced teams amid strong competition until the final stages of the championship.
The coronation reflects the development witnessed by Qatari aerial sports, as well as the efforts exerted in preparing and equipping the national teams for international participation, enhancing their presence in global championships.
"Al-Hadaf Team" is considered one of the most prominent parachuting teams at the international level, thanks to the distinguished results and achievements it has attained in major championships, adding a new golden achievement to the record of Qatari sports with its coronation in Locarno.
His Excellency Major General Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Otaibi, Commander of the Special Forces and Chairman of the Qatar Committee for Aerial Sports, praised the golden achievement accomplished by the 'Al-Hadaf Team,' emphasizing that this triumph is the result of the tremendous efforts exerted by the team to reach the highest levels of readiness and compete for first place against an elite group of global teams.
His Excellency said: "We take pride in the commendable achievement of the champions of Al-Hadaf Team in winning the gold medal, which reflects the high competence, determination, perseverance, and competitive spirit of the people of Qatar." He extended his congratulations to the players, the members of the technical and administrative staff, and everyone who contributed to realizing this achievement.
He pointed out that the crowning achievement did not come out of nowhere, but was the result of continuous work, precise training, discipline, commitment, and self-confidence, in addition to working with the spirit of one team.
He added: "We are proud of every individual in this team, and of every effort exerted to reach this achievement.. Preserve this spirit, and make every success a step towards a greater accomplishment, for our ambition is always aimed at first place, and our goal is to keep the flag of Qatar present on the podiums."
For his part, Abdulaziz Al-Hajjaji, captain of the 'Goal Team,' expressed his happiness at achieving first place and winning the gold medal, saying: "We dedicate this precious achievement and the gold medal to the State of Qatar, its leadership, and its people, and we are proud to raise the flag of Qatar high on the global podiums."
