DOHA: The education sector regulator, Supreme Education Council (SEC), has invited applications from people interested in setting up private schools with national as well as international curriculum.
The SEC has said the applications should be submitted between October 30 and November 4 with its communications department at its office in Al Dafna.
The SEC has outlined a number of conditions that applications must fulfill in order to be eligible to be granted school license.
The schools with international curriculum must teach Arabic and Islamic studies to Qatari students on their roll, aside from Qatar’s history whose teaching is mandatory for all schools.
According to the SEC, permission to set up schools is to be granted under the provisions of Law Number 7 of 1980 and there must be one person who would be legally accountable as the school’s operator.
