AMMAN: Arab Potash Company (APC) has announced that shipments to India, its largest market will resume by the end of this month.

The company said it has also resumed production at 80 percent operational capacity.

And it aims to double its exports to China following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a Chinese firm, Jordan Times report said.

Under the agreement with China, APC will increase its exports to the country to 600,000 tonnes a year between 2014 and 2016, a 100 percent increase from the current 300,000 tonnes of potash supplied to the Chinese market a year.

APC reduced its production last month in a bid to control its stock after the global potash market witnessed a downfall following the collapse of the potash producing cartel in Russia and Belarus in August.

The company has intensified its export plans to major world markets including Indonesia and Malaysia. (QNA)
