DOHA: The first specialised seminar on Professional Qualification Frameworks for Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR) and for the Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) will take place here on Thursday.
The event is held by Mowasalat in collaboration with the International Road Transport Union (IRU). Over 80 delegates representing major stakeholders in Qatar and overseas will participate in the seminar.
The event also marks the UN Decade of Actions on Road Safety.
The speakers include Patrick Philipp, Head of IRU Academy; Geoffrey Cave-Wood, IRU Academy CPC Manager Instructor, Principal, Skills for Logistics; Engineer Noureddine Azizi, Manager of System & safety of Teyseer Service Centre (Qatar); Kris Jooris, Key Driving Competences (Belgium); Max Renault, Programme Leader, Simulator Systems, Williams on behalf of Qatar Petroleum; Skylar Sherman, Head of Land Transport, Qatar Shell; Soren Christiansen, IRU Academy CPC Driver Instructor, CEO, BOREAS Consulting and Robert Makondo, KDDC Director.
The seminar will discuss topics, including the importance of road transport professional training to ensure safe, efficient and sustainable transport operations, role of health, safety and environment (HSE) in ensuring safety and professional qualification success, safe loading and securing of cargo; importance of road safety training equipment and role of professional qualification and technology in improving business efficiency and maximising road safety.
The Peninsula
