DOHA: The Youth Company, Qatar (TYC),  a nonprofit social enterprise for youth empowerment,  will hold a follow-up conference for “MyQatar: Annual Youth Forum on Environment & Sustainability” on October 30.

The follow-up discussion to the forum held in June this year is set to be held at the newly initiated Youth Hub — a joint venture of TYC and Youth Enterprises.

MyQatar serves as the first youth conference on environment and sustainability and has originated from TYC’s bi-annual Youth Change Everything Conference —another initiative by the organisation that aims to empower young motivated individuals to develop their skills in leadership, entrepreneurship and networking through a series of interactive workshops and panel discussions with motivational speakers and leaders from around the region.

In essence, MyQatar is set to raise awareness on environmental issues amongst the youth of the country and provides them a platform to propose their own ideas for sustainability. It aids them in implementing their solutions and realising the development of environmental education as a leading career of the future. MyQatar strives to bring local, governmental and global bodies to listen and support the future generation in raising progressive environmental concerns.

The follow-up of MyQatar is set to readdress sustainable ideas and solutions discussed among the panel and the participating youth previously in June, thus, establishing a ‘next step’ in the fight for environment protection. It presents an opportunity for youth to step forward and contribute for a better and greener life for the youth of the future.

“MyQatar is meant to be more than just a conference where environmental issues are merely discussed. The follow-up is set in order to implement the enlightening solutions that the youth of this country bring to the table and effectively take action by developing a plan for our future. Actions speak louder than words and we must move quickly to see the changes around us. This is the vision of MyQatar,” said Abdulrahman Sajid, Director of YESS and Youth Hub Qatar.

The Follow Up of MyQatar will welcome a number of committees namely Environmental Education Promotion Committee, Youth Engagement & Environmental Issues Committee, Environmental Health Committee and Energy & Environmental Resources Sustainability Committee.
