Doha, Qatar: Afriendly tennis event amongst Indonesian diaspora from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries was recently held in Doha, Qatar.
The event, which was attended by Indonesian citizens living in Qatar, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Kuwait, took place over two days, on October 13 and 14, at Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel, and was attended by more than 60 participants from all of these countries. This event aims at promoting the spirit of brotherhood among Indonesians living in the Gulf.
Ambassador of Indonesia to Qatar, H E Ridwan Hassan, which attended the tournament said that the tournament is a good avenue for exchanging experience among the participants. “I believe each of the participant has an experience from his country that could be shared together.”
In final round, Team Qatar competed against Team UAE. Team Qatar won the title by defeating Team UAE in a thrilling battle.
Ambassador Hassan again thanked all parties involved in organising this friendly tennis tournament.
He also expects that similar activities will be held in the future to strengthen the spirit of brotherhood among Indonesians in the GCC. The event was sponsored by Pearl of Beirut Restaurant and Bank Central of Asia.
