Pakistan Welfare Forum (PWF) organised cancer awareness programme at Pakistan Education Centre (PEC) recently. The programme under the theme – ‘Know it before it’s too late!’ – was conducted by National Centre for Cancer Care and Research (NCCCR).
The session started with Quran recitation followed by the welcome address by PWF Vice-President Ahmad Hussain. This kicked off a series of informative presentations that addressed all the key aspects of breast and cervical cancer common in women of all ages.
These presentations were made by the team from NCCCR that was led by Dr Abdul Rehman, who is also the General Secretary of PWF. Dr Mohammad Illyas Khan and Dr Kulsum from Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) also delivered speeches that added significant value to the session. All presentations emphasized on the early detection of this disease for its successful treatment and cure. To help in the early detection a workshop session, titled “Be Breast Aware”, was also conducted by the NCCCR staff.
The closing session was chaired by M Sarfaraz A Khanzada, Ambassador of Pakistan to Qatar, and attended by Khanzada, the PEC Principal, and staff, and the members of the PWF Steering Committee. The Peninsula
